Watercolor Basic Shapes

Watercolor

Go to Skillshare

Watercolor painting doesn't have to be difficult. With these basic shapes, we will paint in monochrome to learn how to paint. We cover techniques like glazing and graded washes to blend layers and build up the contrast. And the most important exercise, understanding water ratios & transparency.

The class is broken into two sections:

  1. An introduction to watercolor; learning the tools and techniques with different exercises.

  2. Painting the basic shapes using the techniques we just learned and doing the class project.

At the end of the class, you should be confident in painting the basic shapes and have a good understanding of the basic techniques. This includes brush control, water-to-paint ratios, and painting application.

!! Please note that while there is a whole video dedicated to 100% cotton paper, it is much better to GET STARTED. If you do not have access to 100% cotton paper, start with what you have. !!

Happy painting!
